I have two young boys which is evidence that I know a lot about pee. They pee everywhere. What I didn’t know is that I would have peeing issues. It happens when I laugh-I pee, I dance- I pee or do yoga- I pee. It’s no fun.
I exercise and do sit-ups but no matter how many kugels I do, it just doesn’t stop me from leaking. I found out that I could have a type of urinary incontinence known as stress incontinence. This is a common complaint among pregnant women, and some find that it continues to bother them after giving birth. It’s caused from all that pressure on your bladder, plus pregnancy hormones that throw your urinary muscles out of whack.
I have a close friend who is a partner at a law firm. She is constantly making presentations to clients. She told me “I had a special bag in my van for my ‘supplies’ with a change of clothes and extra pads, just in case,” Becky said. “I got so nervous in company meetings, because I was afraid people could smell me.”
Until recently, there weren’t any nonsurgical, effective treatments for urinary incontinence. So, woman got used to minimizing the problem. I needed to get to the root of the problem, not just mask it with pads to manage the symptoms. Pads are better than nothing, but let’s be honest, you can’t really stay poised wearing pads. I never thought I had any options except to have a “bladder tuck” like some older woman do. I heard a friend talking about how she had just had this procedure done called Viveve and how great she feels and her peeing issues have gone away. She is back to her exercise routine and even can jump on trampoline with her girls without any problems.
There is a way to feel liberated with a simple 45 minute procedure called Viveve. It’a vaginal rejuvenation treatment that is helping woman like me everywhere overcome urinary incontinence and feel in control again. Viveve is a comfortable non-surgical procedure that only requires 1 session to deliver significance results and last for up to a year. Viveve gives woman everywhere their control back.

All your summer fun might have left you with dark spots, fine lines and other signs of sun damage. It’s possible to improve the situation and we can help. Hollywood professionals has been using Botox for years to turn back time on their foreheads, lips and cheeks. According to the American Migraine Foundation, Botox has also brought relief to many people who suffer chronic medical conditions such a Migraines. Botox is the only FDA-approved for chronic migraines. “The more frequent the headaches, the better the patient does with Botox. I look to the second and third treatments to maximize effects,” says Dr. Andrew Blumenfeld, Director, The Headache Center of Southern California. “Patients see increasing benefit with an increase in the number of treatment cycles.” One treatment lasts for 10-12 weeks, and patients reported that two Botox treatments reduced the number of headache days by approximately... Tattoos have always fascinated me. When I was growing up only sailors and bikers had tattoos. Then came the nineties when it became fashionable to proudly display a “tramp stamp”, barbed wire, or Chinese character tattoos. Do you remember dolphin ankle designs? Then came the 2000’s and anklet status, and belly button tattoos were seen everywhere! Zodiac signs and one word tattoos such as “Worthy” appear.
I asked my co worker why one would get a tattoo and she explained to me it is a “new generation memorial” I asked why you can’t buy a necklace with Batman on it instead of getting it etched in your skin permanently? She replied “, you can lose a necklace but I will remember the day my boyfriend and I did this... Read more

Dear Dr. Anne,
After incorporating a healthier diet and more exercise into my daily life, I am still struggling with some stubborn fat in my thighs and buttocks. I would really like to start the new year off with more self confidence. Do you have any suggestions for firming and tightening these stubborn areas?
Leslie L., Winston-Salem, NC
You are on the right track incorporating a better diet and more exercise into your daily life! I applaud you for the changes you have made. But sometimes you just cannot eliminate localized areas of fat with diet and exercise alone, and the thigh area is a typical problem area for women.

Dear Dr. Anne,
My friends all rave about Botox® and how great it is for women like myself. I have never had a cosmetic injection or procedure before. I would love for you to tell me a little bit more about Botox® ... I think it's time I gave it a try.
You've come to the right place. I was one of the first physicians in the Winston-Salem area to offer Botox when it was approved by the FDA in 2002 and I was trained by the best - Dr. Jean Carruthers - the doctor who pioneered the use of Botox for cosmetic use. Botox® would likely be my first choice for treating your lines.

Dear Dr. Anne,
It's been an extremely busy summer. I've enjoyed so many fun times on the road with my two teenage daughters traveling to softball games, chauffering them to and from activities, as well as keeping up with the construction of our new home. Now that the kids are back in school and we are settled in our new home, it's time for me! I would like to know more about Juvéderm® Ultra XC, Ultra Plus XC and Voluma fillers and injectables my friends all rave about.
